A gemstone vs an energized gemstone — the difference is "life force"
A stone bought off the shelf is just a beautiful mineral. Energization (abhimantran) is the ancient process of connecting that stone to its planet and "awakening" it through mantra-power and intention — so it becomes not just an ornament, but an active planetary instrument.
